Lincs #11
Cytoplasm- a gel-like material plus the organelles outside the nucleus, and inside the cell membrane.
Cell membrane- semipermeable membrane surrounding the cytoplasm of a cell.
Virus- an infective agent that typically consists of a nucleic acid molecule in a protein coat, is too small to be seen by light microscopy, and is able to multiply only within the living cells of a host.
Immune system- protects the body against disease or other potentially damaging foreign bodies. When working, the immune system identifies and attacks a variety of threats, including viruses, bacteria and parasites, while distinguishing them from the body's own healthy tissue.

Flood plain- is a generally flat area of land next to a river or stream.
Long shore current- is a geological process that consists of the transportation of sediments (clay, silt, pebbles, sand and shingle) along a coast parallel to the shoreline.
Petri dish-a shallow, circular, transparent dish with a flat lid, used for the culture of microorganisms.
Delta- is a landform created by deposition of sediment that is carried by a river as the flow leaves its mouth and enters slower-moving or stagnant water.
